TRACK OF THE DAY: A$AP Rocky – Everyday

While on holiday our playlist, despite having about 200 songs on it decided to ignore about 180 of these and repeat the same songs over and over. It’s a testament then that this new release by A$AP Rocky from his new album ‘AT. LONG. LAST. ASAP’ was still being actually chosen by home time. With a rapper/legend match which makes so much more sense than Kanye having Macca awkwardly strumming in the background, sultry samples of Rod Stewart’s ‘In a Broken Dream’ open and weave through the track alongside fresh renditions by the soulful Miguel. Throw in then a meandering beat by producer Mark Ronson underlying A$AP’s rap and a climax that just knows it’s cool as Miguel sings that ‘I’ve got the love-birds chirping at the window, but I don’t need love no mo’, this is a track that’ll keep you on your toes; be they in the sand or otherwise.
